'Cos am lazy, and can't be arsed going into all the ins and outs of the Lodrian species along with the fact that in all honesty, its been 3 years since I last wrote about them, I'm just gonna give you a brief run down of the species itself, and not much of the society . Seeeeeee....this is what all those Jps do to you, run you down until you can't be bothered to do anything else
Okay. The Lodrians are an unusual race, in that there are four distinctive types; drones, warriors, praetorians and the spiders. In short, the drones are the most numerous followed by the warriors, spiders then praetorians. All types of Lodrians are slimy and reptilian in appearance.
The 'Drones', are quite short, about the same size as a ten-year old male. They are do not carry weapons as such, however, the have large, razor sharp mandibles with long, venomous claws in addition to four-six inch long spines on various points of their bodies. They are the easiest to dispose of, and fastest, out of the bipedal Lodrian species, however even they take several high powered phaser hits to stop them.
The 'Warriors' are about the same height as a nausicaan male, they share more similarities with the 'Drones' then any other of the group of the Lodrian species. They have larger spines and mandibles. The 'Warriors' don't have quite as lengthy claws as the 'Drones' do, instead, they are artificially implanted with dual plasma bolt weapons on their wrists with the power packs located inside the body. The 'Warriors' also carry staffs with sharp blades and a plasma bolt weapon embedded in it also - being a blood thirsty race and craving the taste of flesh, they will only use their energy weapons against large groups, preferring to fight hand-to-hand. They are much more difficult to kill than the 'Drones', requiring concentrated fire on high settings.
The third, and only hexapedal member of the Lodrian species, is the 'Spider'. They are the smallest of the species, being about the same size as a large dog. As mentioned, they have six legs and are devastatingly fast. Like the 'Drones', they are very animalistic in their nature, attacking in swarms of four or five. They are relatively unarmed, and reasonably harmless alone aside from the mandible and spines, however, they have a particularly nasty defence system; they spray a fine mist which causes severe blistering, breathing difficulties and blindness (if it gets in your eyes) when provoked in addition to a short scorpion-like tail capable of delivering a neurotoxin which slowly, and painfully shuts down the bodies vital organs.. Unlike the rest of the species, they are not heavily armoured and as a result, are easy to kill.
The three members of the species so far, all have a shared trait; they are the ones that reproduce. They all have a sharp, spear like appendage inside their mouths which can stab a person from between 50cm and a metre away depending on the group, implanting an egg from which a new Lodrian grows from. The embryo attaches itself to the nervous system and feeds off the electrical impulses flowing through a body. The only known way to remove the embryo with causing permanent brain damage to its host, is to shut down the brain then restart it. One host can be impregnated with many embryos. Gestation is between 3 and 4 days.
The final member of the Lodrian species, is the Praetorian. These hulky monsters are extremely intelligent, powerful and are a nightmare to eliminate – thankfully, they are very rare, usually only one per boarding party. The Praetorians feature dual shoulder mounted Plasma cannons, dual pulse cannons and napalm casters on each wrist . For defence, they are fitted with shield generators and heavy armour. It is assumed that the Praetorians are the original members of the Lodrian species with the 'Drones', 'Warriors' and 'Spiders' as by-products of genetic manipulation.
Little is known about the technology that the Lodrians use, only that their ships are almost totally organic and are immune to the effects of energy weapons – simply absorbing the energy and transferring it into usable power. Their ships are fitted usually with only two types of weapon, particle (purple) beams which can punch straight the hull of a ship and 'wave' cannons which fire photons at a shielded target at varying frequencies until the shield frequency is found – particle beams then operate at this frequency making short work of an enemy ship.
The Lodrians communicate via telepathy. When boarding enemy craft or stations, they often lie dormant, building their numbers before striking - a typical attack involves disabling power systems.
